Cars aren’t the only vehicles benefitting from a renaissance of electric power. There’s also an array of electric bicycles and scooters for the environmentally-conscious urban commuter.
The M3 features a 250-watt hub-mounted electric motor and 36-volt battery. Top speed is configurable at 7, 12, or 20 mph. The rider must get it rolling, but after that all he or she has to do is hang on to the handlebars.
A full recharge using the included charging unit takes about 4.5 hours, while an 85-percent charge takes about 2.5 hours.
The M3 weighs 34 pounds and folds to 1’x1/2′ for easy carrying. The compact size may make riding at the full 20 mph a bit tense, but it makes for easy storage once you arrive at your destination.
That combination of portability and eco-friendliness can be had for $999. EcoReco also offers a carrying case for $139, and a spare charger for $79.
