A patchwork quilt may seem quaint, but it’s actually a genuine piece of sustainable design. It’s all about conserving resources by making the most of what you have.
That was the inspiration for a new furniture collection from Kith&Kin (via TreeHugger) a furniture maker from Amarillo, Texas. like a patchwork quilt, its designs feature a mix of different woods from different sources.
One piece is a console with a white lacquered shell and a series of drawers and doors made from a patchwork of white oak, walnut, mahogany, and reclaimed hardwood. It’s finished off by raw steel pulls.
Other pieces include a farm table and recycle coffee table made of recycled wood that feature designs that are both rustic and modern. They’ll all look great in your apartment or office and help conserve resources.
