Concept cars are the automotive industry’s way of showing possible versions of the future while wowing anyone who sees them. This vehicle does that with two fewer wheels.
Priority Designs and Cannondale (via Inhabitat) teamed up to create the Continuously Ergonomic Race Vehicle (CERV). It looks like something straight out of Tron.
Or maybe Transformers. Not only does the CERV look cool, it can also reshape itself thanks to a “dynamically adjustable headset that moves both fore-and-aft and up-and-down” as the bike moves. It’s designed to keep the rider in the optimal position regardless of terrain.
This performance wouldn’t be possible with a traditional front fork, so designers created a single-aid swing arm similar to what’s used to locate the rear wheels of certain motorcycles.
The CERV was mocked up and tested by Cannondale itself, then turned over to Priority Designs to be built. However, like many concept cars, it’s unclear whether this concept bike will ever make it to production.
