Have you ever eaten at a Chinese restaurant and, after fumbling with the chopsticks, simply put them aside and used a fork?
Those disposable chopsticks get thrown out whether you use them or not, which is a bit of a waste. The designers of PenstiX (via Inhabitat) hope to solve that problem with a pair of reusable chopsticks that are easy to clean and stow.
The collapsible sticks are easy to carry, and reassemble in about 12 seconds, so the food isn’t going to get cold. So not only do they cut down on wasted bamboo chopsticks, they also allow people to carry their own utensils everywhere, further reducing the need of disposable eating implements. They should be a boon to hypochondriacs.
PenstiX will be available in multiple colors, and there will even be a stylus attachment for use with smartphones and tablets. Just be careful about multitasking.
The designers recently started an Indiegogo campaign to fund PenstiX. Make a donation to get a pair of your own.
