If you surf over to Grist, you’ll find a list of the top five ways to combat climate change, and you’ll probably notice a theme.
The website relays the findings of a new study from the Ecological Society of America that analyzed the five leading strategies to stop climate change, and they all involve reducing carbon emissions in different ways.
The study advocates first and foremost reducing emissions by conserving energy and creating more efficient ways to generate it. Sequestering carbon through plant life, capturing, and fertilizing the ocean.
There’s also the science-fiction-sounding suggestion of “geoengineering” the planet to reduce the amount of sunlight that actually reaches the surface by creating artificial clouds or placing solar reflectors in space. Whatever it takes, right?
