Here’s something you don’t see every day… unless you’re a Batman villain.
A team of British designers and artists have proposed a new floating tourists attraction that would also bring solar energy to Copenhagen, Time reports. It just happens to be a giant duck.
The 12-story fowl could harvest enough solar energy to put a dent into the Danish capital’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2025, but what will the zoning commission say?
By day, the steel-framed “energy duck” would collect energy using the solar panels that cover it, while at night it would light up with LEDs that change color in rhythm with its internal hydro-turbines. Visitors would even be able to go inside and see how all of this works.
The energy duck is just a concept, but it certainly attracts attention to the search for urban renewable energy.
