The new version keeps flowing glass and concrete facades that were part of the original design, according to Inhabitat, but the campus has been moved away from the La Brea Tar Pits paleontological site to better preserve it.
Closer proximity to the Tar Pits, which are a popular tourist attraction as well as an active site of research, caused much criticism of the original design. The changes curve the nearby building further away, creating more space between the two sites.
